Dr. Ashley Chennankara is a Board-Certified Eye Doctor and Therapeutic Glaucoma specialist. She was specifically selected by Dr. Gicheru to manage our Comprehensive Eye Care, Dry Eye Syndrome and Postoperative Clinics. She came to LaserCare Eye Center after being in a private practice in the Mid-Cities. Prior to this, she worked in a busy Ophthalmology clinic at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. Dr. Chennankara graduated from Austin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2006. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston School of Optometry in 2010. Following this, she successfully obtained her Therapeutic Glaucoma sub specialization. She performed externships at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas and at the Central Texas Veterans Administration Healthcare system in Waco. Dr. Chennankara provides a wide range of eye care services including Comprehensive eye care, Contact Lens exams, Diabetes, Macular Degeneration and Glaucoma care. She has extensive experience in the co-management of Laser Vision Correction and Cataract Surgery. In addition, she specializes in the therapeutic treatment and management of ocular disease and glaucoma. Her greatest joy is “helping my patients understand the health of their eyes, which is vital for their overall well-being”. Dr. Chennankara is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She has been Board-Certified by the American Board of Optometry since 2013. She is licensed by both the Texas Optometry Board and the National Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Chennankara is a native Texan. She and her husband have one young child.
