When he founded our practice, Dr. Gicheru understood that lasers were the future in eye surgery. We are called LaserCare Eye Center because of this and the fact that exceptional “CARE” is our specialty. The latest story in Cataract Surgery these days is lasers for Cataract surgery. We were one of the first practices in DFW to bring this to our patients. We offer our patients 2 options for using Lasers for Cataract Surgery: The Lensx Laser Cataract System: The Lensx laser was one of the first lasers FDA approved to automate some of the steps of Cataract surgery. As of 2015, over 400,000 Laser–Assisted Cataract surgery procedures have been provided worldwide with this platform. The Lensx laser is the leading platform and has been used in more cataract surgeries worldwide than any other laser system.
The advantages are numerous:
Precise and customizable laser incisions instead of blade incisions. Great visualization by the surgeon using High definition Ocular-CT. Procedure automation. Use of the laser to “soften” the lens to allow easy Cataract removal.
Laser Cataract surgery is not covered by insurance. The procedure is expensive and most Ophthalmologists do not have it….yet. Not all patients make perfect candidates for the procedure.
Call 214-328-0444 to schedule a Cataract Surgery pre-op exam and find out if you are a candidate for this new innovation in Cataract Surgery. The Intralase method: If you have already had Cataract surgery and do not see well because of residual Eyeglass prescription, you may be a candidate for LASIK using the latest blade-free IntraLASIK procedure. NOTE: LASIK is FDA approved, but the use of LASIK in patients over age 40 or patients with a history of eye surgery is considered off-label use.
A blade-free way to reduce dependence on glasses and/or contact lenses. Corrects residual eye prescription: astigmatism and/or myopia or hyperopia. The procedure takes 10 minutes. Fast visual recovery.
LASIK surgery is not covered by insurance. The procedure is expensive and most Ophthalmologists do not have it. Off-Label use in eyes with a prior history of Eye surgery. Not all patients make perfect candidates for the procedure.
